CISU is an autonomous organisation run for students, by students. The Student Union work closely with the NUS
(National Union of Students) whom are responsible for the Welfare of all students in the UK.
The CISU's main priority is to represent all students in all matters: welfare, academic and social. Colchester Institute students aged 16 years or over are automatically members of CISU and are entitled to use union facilities, join clubs and societies, vote and stand in union elections. Anyone can get involved with any aspect of CISU at any time (through becoming a course representative), however members of the Executive Committee, President, Vice- President Welfare and Academic, and the Clubs and Social Officer are elected positions. See posters around College for details or enquire at the Students' Union office for more information.
